Overview

Summerland Minor Baseball Association offers baseball programs for children aged 3 through 18, in Summerland, BC. We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all baseball participants.

All divisions are offered, pending registration numbers and volunteers. The success of our program depends on the efforts of involved parents and other volunteers.

Born in Years: 2015-2016

Description:

Games are up to 5 innings in length
Focus on having fun while continuing to develop the players' primary baseball skills of hitting, base running, fielding and throwing
Season starts using pitching machine and progresses to "live" pitching by the end of the season

Equipment required:

Baseball glove
Batting helmet
Protective jock/jill
Cleats (rubber)
Baseball bat
Baseball pants (grey)

11U

Born in Years: 2013-2014

Description:

Games are 5 innings in length (if time allows)
A fun transition from learning the skills to playing "real" baseball, including pitching, back catcher, hitting a pitched ball, stealing bases, and backing up other positions
Regular baseball is used at this level
Pitch counts are in effect to protect young pitchers' arms from injury
No lead offs are allowed and players cannot steal until the ball crosses the plate on a pitch

Born in Years: 2011-2012

Description:

Games are up to 7 innings in length
First level where "full" baseball rules come into effect
Pitch count rules are in effect to protect young pitchers' arms from injury
Lead-offs, pick-offs, and stealing are permitted, and balks are called on pitchers
